Purpose:
Reinventing the Black Male Experience at Fresno State.

Leadership
Men of Onyx are encouraged to be leaders within the community.

Closed Door Discussions
Onyx creates a safe haven for the men to have closed door discussions on their daily lives.

Professional Development
Aside from the educational development the brothers are receiving in their respective courses, Onyx also educates the young men with professional workshops to better equip them for their professional endeavors.

Building Community
Onyx brothers are involved in many community services, ranging from feeding families during Thanksgiving to providing food for the homeless and helping at the poverello house and mentoring high school students.

Social Justice / Civil Service
Onyx brothers are also part of NAACP, they have hosted rallies, and are actively seeking ways to improve social justice in the community.

Graduation
It is a growing epidemic that Black Males in America historically have the lowest graduation rate. Onyx looks to do what it can on Fresno State's Campus to improve the graduation rate.
